JUCO
NJCAA rules follow the NCAA rules with two exceptions. For conference games in our region ejections require a one game suspension. So if working a DH, an ejection in the first game of a player or coach requires that they sit out the next game. The second rule difference is the 10 after 5 and 8 after 7 game advantage ending rule.

2010 Annual NCAA Meeting - Important changes
The CBUAO will not be holding meetings at any of the 2010 NCAA clinic sites. With increased costs, the poor economy, and expenses involved with attending the meeting, it appears to be in the best interest of the umpires to handle conference administrative matters electronically, utilizing e-mail and our website www.cbuao.com, especially since there are no NCAA playing rules changes for 2010. A CBUAO and conference representative will be present at the various umpire chapter meetings throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, where the NCAA rules video and points of emphasis will be presented. We will utilize these local meetings to meet with our conference umpires and pass along all pertinent information to prepare umpires for the 2010 baseball season. A list of 2010 local meetings will be published in the near future. Likely dates and sites will be Taunton, MA (1/9), Lewiston, ME (1/10), Syracuse, NY (1/16), Mahwah, NJ (1/17), Philadelphia, PA (2/14), Richmond, VA.

Umpires who wish to be considered for NCAA D-I championship assignments (regionals, super-regionals, World Series) are still required to attend one of the NCAA clinics and fulfill all other NCAA requirements. A list of NCAA clinic sites is available... click here! The NCAA has announced that there will be a cost involved ($100) to register through ESO for the online test, background check, etc. Umpires who do not wish to be considered for NCAA D-I championship consideration need not register with ESO and are not required to take the online NCAA rules test. An alternate exam will be presented, free of charge, through the CBUAO and local CBUA and MAC chapters. D-3 world series umpires are required to fulfill NCAA requirements every other year. Umpires who attended an NCAA clinic in 2009 are eligible for the 2010 D-3 World Series.

Please note that the CBUAO is in no way discouraging umpires from attending NCAA clinics in 2010. The national coordinator and his staff are planning a very worthwhile one-day session in Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. It is at the request of the local chapter representatives and a result of the difficult economic times that the CBUAO has agreed to not make attendance at the NCAA clinics a mandatory requirement to receive regular season and conference tournament assignments in 2010.
