SECRETARY
Carmen Perrotti was appointed by the Advisory board to succeed Warren Bumpus. ‘Bump’ stepped down after a long tenure at the helm; however, he will stay on to continue to run our website.
CBUA ANNUAL MEETING
The mandatory annual meeting will be held on Saturday, January 19th at LeMoyne College in Syracuse. The meeting will be in the usual location Grewen Hall. Doors will open at 10:45 AM. The meeting for 1st year officials will be held at 11 AM. The normal meeting will be held at Noon with an end by 4 PM. If you cannot attend the meeting you need to contact Carm Perrotti ASAP. You need to attend at least one of Nick’s regional meetings to maintain active status for 2008.
Nick Zibelli will sell his CBUAO apparel at the meeting but he will not be selling any hats. You must pre-order hats with George Cox by Dec 18 (see our website for details) or order hats directly from Nick on-line (http://www.cbuao.com).
ANNUAL DUES
Annual dues ($50) must be paid at the meeting or prior by mailing your check (payable to UNYCBUA) to
George Cox
4 Highview Way
Mechanicville, NY 12118
Anyone desiring to be an inactive member dues are ½ ($25) per year. Please mail your dues to George along with an email to Carmen Perrotti so stating your intention.
NEW MEMBER TRYOUT PROCEDURE
The tryout procedure was standardized by the membership committee (with board approval) last August and can be found on the website under the ‘application’ tab. The application form was also changed. In the future all tryouts will be held once a year in the fall at a central location with the dates/times published on the website.
ASSIGNING
Assignments will continue to be done by the Sports Officiating Bureau (Nick Zibelli). You should have already entered your availability on his website (deadline Dec 1). If you haven’t done so contact Nick immediately.
ELECTIONS
The Constitution calls for the election of two members of the advisory board this year. The Advisory board will recommend Tom Augostini and Wally Bissett to be elected to the Advisory Board. Any members wishing to be considered for these positions should contact Carm Perrotti.
The Constitution also states that the general membership should vote on any changes to the Constitution. At last year’s meeting the membership was told we would vote this year on a change to the Constitution adding another Advisory board position (due to increased membership enrollment). If the measure passes by vote, the Advisory board will recommend Jeff Burt for that position.
CCA MANUAL
The 2008 version of the CCA manual is now available. Check our website for order information. This book is a must as it is the official reference for the NCAA mechanics on the 2, 3 and 4 man systems.
ON-LINE ROSTER
There will be no registration station as in the past for updating your personal information at the annual meeting. Send any updates to the on-line roster to Carm Perrotti via email.
2008 NCAA RULE CHANGES
New rule changes for the year have been posted on our website. Get a leg up and review them prior to the meeting.
FYI
We lost four members the past year. One member retired, Mike Terlecky (Buffalo), and three others have moved to warmer climates: Jon Zukosky (Arizona), Tim Resch (Las Vegas) and Jim McCormack (Carolinas). We wish them well - and we welcome five new members.
Enjoy the Holidays…….see you in January!
